We offer many in-house blood tests that are ready that day or within hours. More complicated or unusual blood tests can be sent away to a larger laboratory and may take several days up to 1 week to get results.
Sometimes cats need to be fasted prior to taking blood or taken several hours prior or after giving a medication. Please ask your veterinarian or our team members for further instructions.
Yearly wellness blood screening is recommended, especially as your cat ages. For specific diseases, specific in-house blood tests may be required as frequently as once or twice a week. Talk to your veterinarian to decide what is best for your pet.
Yes, we perform urinalysis daily in-house and biopsy as needed. Biopsies are sent away to a special lab for testing. Quick fine needle aspirates are also done in-house and can be looked at here or sent away for special testing by an expert histopathologist.
