Protect your cat's health with regular deworming to prevent parasite-related issues.
Routine yearly stool testing is important to detect parasites. Deworming is a major part of maintaining your cat’s health.
Cats can become infested with many different internal parasites such as whipworms, roundworms, hookworms, coccidia, tapeworm and many more.
Diarrhea, loose stool, tapeworm segments on your cat’s hind end or tail are all symptoms to look for if a cat has worms. In addition, you should watch for weight loss or a large belly but not weight gain anywhere else on the body.
Some parasites are labelled as zoonotic. Zoonotic means humans are able to become infected with these parasites as well.
It is recommended your cat is dewormed every 5 months.
Direct side effects from deworming could be an allergic reaction. However, if your cat does have a parasite and a de-wormer is given, it may cause diarrhea while the body gets rid of the parasite.
